The screw pile of the “screw” type is of metal pipe form with a conical tip and a mounting hole on top.

The cast tip is equipped with a narrow, multi-turn blade.

Piles with a cast, multi-turned tip resemble self-drilling screw, with a similar principle of work: the tip cuts and compacts the soil, and the blade, due to its small diameter, makes it easier to screw in the pile.

The cast tip contributes to a more precise and quick installation of screw piles in difficult and frozen soils.грунтах.

Advantages of screw piles over blade piles

The design of a multi-turned pile is similar to a self-drilling screw – turns are cut along the shaft to provide fixation during screwing in, a rectangular flange is welded on top of it for the purposes of binding and installing the raft foundation. Due to the fixing turns, they enter dense soil softer, and are securely fixed in it, providing a solid support for houses, garages, agricultural constructions.

The piles are protected against corrosion by a galvanized layer. Their service life without routine maintenance in any climatic conditions is 50 years and more, which is comparable to the durability of typical strip reinforced concrete foundations. At the same time, the cost of the latter is several times higher than that of the screw foundations.

Installation of screw piles with diameter up to 133 mm is possible without special equipment. A crew of 4-5 people will be more than enough to install the foundation for a garage, summerhouse or sauna in a day. Drilling machine is needed for screwing in larger diameter products or when it is important to finish the project in a short period of time.
